What "SI" means

SI stands for Super Intelligence. Since September 2026, US federal agencies have been directed to use "Super Intelligence" (SI) in place of "artificial intelligence" (AI).

AI is still the everyday term, so SI Books uses both.

What it is

  • Written for curious beginners, as well as people who already use AI.
  • A short weekly email: a five-minute win, a step-by-step how-to, quick tips, a tool spotlight and the local rules worth knowing. All in a 3–4 minute read.
  • Built on tools you probably already have: Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini and the AI in your accounting software.
  • Every tip says what to check, and where AI still needs a human eye.
  • Sources linked, so you can check them yourself.

Same tips, local rules

Both editions share the same tools, tips and workflows. They differ only where the rules differ:

  • UK edition: MTD, VAT, Self Assessment, Companies House, HMRC, UK GDPR and the UK professional bodies.
  • US edition: 1099s, sales tax, the IRS, data-security rules and the AICPA.

The editor

SI Books is edited by Clara Hayes. She decides what goes into each issue and reads the replies. No question is too basic.
